Carries Out Integrated SMS Campaign for new Siemens 'Xelibri'
As
a key part of the the launch of the new Siemens XELIBRI phone in
Indonesia on 26 August, 2003, 1rstWAP carried out a mobile marketing
promotion using SMS. The program gained a very healthy 10.3% response
rate.
Siemens
Mobile's local distributor, PT. Dian Graha Elektrika, carried out
a multi-channel promotion including newspaper ads, emails, in-store
promotions, web sites and thanks to 1rstWAP, a targeted SMS promotion.
1rstWAP,
whose portals already have almost 500,000 subscribers in Indonesia,
has taken a leading role in promoting a permission-based opt-in
approach to mobile marketing programs which are becoming increasing
popular in Indonesia.
1rstWAP
uses a double-confirmation method to verify mobile phone numbers
and email addresses. Together with profile information provided
by subscribers, 1rstWAP is able to match promotions closely to the
subscribers' characteristics and interests. 1rstWAP also maintains
user goodwill by ensuring that the user receives a certain number
of normal person-to-person messaging, community, news or other content
SMS and email messages before he or she receives the next marketing
message.
The
most common response methods to an SMS marketing message are: replying
to the message, visiting a shop or other venue, visiting a web site,
or making an immediate purchase. For this promotion 1rstWAP asked
the users to respond or visit their Siemens Mobile dealer. About
64.5% of responses indicate the recipient's interest in the product.
The
effective integration of online, offline and mobile promotion methods
by DGE and 1rstWAP is shown by the number of users who mentoned
the newspaper advertisements. This highlights the important role
of multi-channel reinforcement of the message and brand in product
launches such as this. 1rstWAP provides mobile marketing services
to many companies in Indonesia. Contact 1rstWAP now for more information
about these services, or to advertise to 1rstWAP's subscriber base
